About

Jonah Vale is a photographer in New York. He photographs people at work and at home, couples on their wedding day, and the rooms and things small studios make.

He started as a casting assistant and learned that most people look stiff for the first ten minutes. His sessions are paced for what comes after.

He grew up in Portland, Maine, moved to New York in 2013, and has worked on his own since 2017. He shoots in a daylight studio in Dumbo, Brooklyn, and on location across the city.
